26.A. Describe how the choices of tools/technologies and processes are used to create specific effects in the arts.
Time:7- 40 minute class periods
Objectives:
Procedure:
1. Students will create facial sketches.
2. Students will make a sketch for their pottery design.
3. Teacher will demonstrate how to make a face out of clay.
4. Students will paint their ceramics after they have been fired.

- Students will learn that pottery has given bits of information to increase understanding of societies, past and present.
- Students will learn techniques for sculpting pottery.
- Students will make a sculpted pottery.
- Students learn a variety of ceramic vocabulary terms.
Procedure:
1. Students will create facial sketches.
2. Students will make a sketch for their pottery design.
3. Teacher will demonstrate how to make a face out of clay.
4. Students will paint their ceramics after they have been fired.
